How we met…
It all began when Kevin’s sister Missy announced to family and friends that her brother was available. After talking to Kevin, Gayle’s sister Melanie who is married to Kevin’s cousin decided to try her hand at getting us together.
Now remember, Gayle lives in Ohio and Kevin in Indiana…and we had never met. So, after getting rejected on both sides at the suggestion of a ‘set-up’, Melanie decided to recommend we become friends on Facebook. Both of us accepted. 🙂
After many months of becoming ‘friends’, the occasional message turned into emails, which turned into phone calls, and finally our first date in early December, 2010. And the rest is history!
The Proposal…
It began as a normal Monday evening rehearsal at the end of July and I was on the risers singing with my chorus. Unknown to me, Kevin had big plans in mind for that evening!
He had been in contact with my family and friends as well as my chorus directors for the ‘grand proposal’ and drove in from Indianapolis to Columbus after work with his mom and best friend.
What a surprise when the door opened to rehearsal and in piled family and friends led by Kevin! After I ran down from the risers, he proposed to me in front of my chorus and family…of course I said YES!!!
The Wedding…
We got married on April 27, 2013. It was a lovely spring day with many friends and family in attendance. After the wedding, we flew to Mexico for a lovely honeymoon where we enjoyed a sun-filled relaxing week!
